Dear Friends,     Thank you very much to everyone who has contributed reports and photos of special services and events, which you should please find attached in our busy May magazine. This edition contains information of many upcoming social events in May, both in terms of our annual United Benefice events, such as Walking Day, and also in terms of special events to  celebrate The Coronation of King Charles III.     May’s magazine also provides you with opportunities to help all three of our three United Benefice primary schools. Graveyard Memorial Inspection Report

The PCC has a general duty for the safety of the churchyard. To fulfill this, it needs to exercise reasonable care, and so must carry out safety inspections of the memorials periodically. During the latest inspection, a number of memorials were found to be dangerously unstable and were laid down, others needed repair and were marked with hazard tape to be monitored. Maintenance of gravestones and tombs is the responsibility of the deceased's family. The latest inspection took place in November 2022 and the PCC has agreed the inspection report should be published so that the families of the deceased whose memorials need remedial work can identify them and have them professionally re-erected or repaired. The full report can be read or downloaded from this address: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Eh7iJgsCNHHZBoQi61nvqh914xH19GFk/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=117577889125620355894&rtpof=true&sd=true .
