Dear Friends,

Thank you very much to everyone who has contributed reports and photos of special services and events, which you should please find attached in our busy May magazine. This edition contains information of many upcoming social events in May, both in terms of our annual United Benefice events, such as Walking Day, and also in terms of special events to
celebrate The Coronation of King Charles III.

May’s magazine also provides you with opportunities to help all three of our three United Benefice primary schools. Balderstone School are hosting an ‘Open The Book’ training session and Samlesbury School are looking for volunteers to help to redevelop their pond and nature area. Meanwhile sponsoring a local parent with an upcoming cycling challenge could help to provide Mellor School with new picnic tables and friendship benches.

This month, our events supplement includes posters with details of:

  • A Performance of Songs from Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat at St Mary’s Church, Mellor
  • A Coronation Celebration Brunch at St Leonard’s Church, Balderstone
  • A Family Fun Day at Mellor Village Hall
  • Open The Book at Balderstone St Leonard’s CE Primary School
