We are very pleased to share with you the May edition of our United Benefice Magazine. As always, we have news from so many areas of our United Benefice and we thank all our regular contributors for their articles. This month’s edition also includes news from Blackburn Cathedral, a thank you from Canon Pam Daunton, who has recently completed 25 years as a Licensed Lay Minister, and an introduction from Angela Preedy, our new Mellor Library Officer.

 

There is lots to look forward to across May and June, including Balderstone’s Walking Day and Summer Afternoon Tea Party, The Last Night of Mellor Proms and Samlesbury’s Garden Party.

June was definitely a busy month, locally, and we are pleased to share reports from recent special occasions, including our United Benefice Confirmation Service, St Leonard’s Afternoon Tea at Balderstone,  Samlesbury’s Garden Party, the 80th Anniversary of D-Day Beacon Lightings and the Bicentenary Celebration of Mellor Brook Community Centre.   Thank you to everyone who has contributed news items and photos, particularly to those who have recently been appointed to key roles in our United Benefice.
